TWO WEEKS from today we’ll be returning to Blandford Nature Center for our once monthly Guided Shinrin-yoku (forest bathing) program with Katie, and we can’t wait! 🍁☀️ We recently spotted our first honey mushrooms of the season and that can only mean one thing: fall foraging season has started! 🍄🧺 “Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer’s day, listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time.” - John Lubbock We have some family news! Anna Rachelle Venechuk entered the world on Tues, Sept 5 at 11:34am. Her scream was BOOMING, followed up by a quiet moment of eyes wide open, taking it all in. ✨☀️😍 IT’S HAPPENNINNGG!!! 🍃🍂 The leaves are beginning to change and the days are beginning to shorten. Fall is coming! Do you struggle with SAD? Dont ignore it! 👇 Well…we’re STILL waiting on this baby 😆🤰, but in the meantime we’re getting in lots of mushroom exploration and forest time together! As we wait for Katie to go into labor, it’s been a series of foraging adventures! Since we haven’t taught an August foraging class, swipe 👉 for a few of the wonderful foods & ingredients you can find on the landscape right now (..plus a photo of a bonus find in the forest, which ONLY LUKE - the four leaf clover wizard and luckiest guy ever - would randomly find in the middle of the trees): Our baby is due THIS week! Our baby is due this week!? 😆 Wow, how time flies. And what an amazing thing it is - to be alive, and feel your body change with the growth of a tiny human.
